Evaluation System: STAR - the US most popular and renowned Reading Level Evaluation System (STAR) and Accelerated Reader (AR) system

Teaching Approach: Teacher-led, student-centered inquiry-based learning approach, and individual student tracking and feedback; 

Learning Objectives: To develop life-long skilled, independent readers of English for academic purposes and personal interest and enable students to move onto the Literature, Writing and PBL Projects programs;

Course Setting: Membership (6 month/one year)

Class Frequency: Twice a week

Develop listening, speaking, reading and writing skills and critical thinking skills through:

 Individualized reading material every session and vocabulary building through reading and looking up dictionary;

 Common Core skills-based interview approach ensures routine oral English practice and critical thinking skills development; 

 Complete the AR quiz to check own understanding of the book read; 

 Levelled, skills-based book responses allow for consolidated reading and writing skills practice and progression;

 Athena library with books covering different subject areas and genres;
